About Loesje

Started in 1983 by a (still unknown) girl in the Netherlands, Loesje has already conquered most of Europe, and a bit beyond, with creativity and posters!

Loesje lets empty walls, dustbins, traffic lights speak out...

Loesje texts are mostly positive and funny, and at the same time critical. They try to make rushing people on the street pause and see things from new perspectives, and maybe take action in their own lives.

Loesje texts are not trying to tell anyone what to think; instead they often invite to many different interpretations.

People from all over the world write texts for the posters, which local Loesje groups then spread around the streets, hoping to make their worlds a more positive and creative place.

And now.... LOESJE HAS COME TO EDINBURGH!

If you want to help out writing texts and sticking posters / if you are interested in other forms of creative activism / if you want to hear more about Loesje, come along to our bi-weekly workshops!
